Let’s Go Camping!

Hey everybody! Wanted to iron out a few details about the festival. There will be a bus leaving Los Angeles (meeting place to to be determined) on the morning of Saturday, February 25th 2012. That bus will be arriving in Slab City approximately around noon – 1 o’clock. The music will begin around 2 or 3 pm. (depending on when the bus arrives). The bus will then leave to take everyone back to LA on sunday morning February 26th. That means everyone will be camping out at Slab City Saturday night. There will be pop up tents and chairs for shade during the day as well as water tanks, port-o-potties and hand sanitizer stations. There will be plenty of room under the bus to bring camping gear and provisions. BRING FOOD! If you are coming out to just enjoy the show then please pack a cooler with your own food and we will provide a means to prepare it! If you aren’t down to camp but still want to see the spectacle there are links to nearby hotels below. Thank you and have a marvelous day!

Welcome!

“Open Mic Night After The Apocalypse” is a first time music festival that will take place in Slab City next to the Salton Sea on February 25th. Slab City features a strangely beautiful stage created by salvaged materials and two abandoned buses named “The Range”. The Range will host this unique experience where six emerging LA-based bands will journey out to the desert with their music and their fans following close behind to play a historic show. Manhattan Murder Mystery, Stab City, Seasons, The Mo-Odds, Mama’s Joy and Paul Prado Animal Raps will perform to this weird cauldron of Slabbers, scenesters, travelers, mystics and music lovers. The entire festival will be captured on camera for a feature film accurately titled “Open Mic Night After The Apocalypse”.
